Mr. Robert “Robbie” Lee Moorefield, 65, went to be with his lord and savior on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Walnut Cove Health and Rehab. Robbie was born in Forsyth County on November 1, 1953, to Robert Lee Moorefield, Sr., and Peggy King Moorefield. He graduated from North Stokes High School in 1972 and was was a lifelong member of Tru-Way Baptist Church. He retired with 38 years of service as a Machinist for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. Robbie was an avid Duke Blue Devils fan and enjoyed fishing, camping, Nascar, and trips to the beach with family and friends. He was a genuine, humble, and kind person. Although quiet he was very outgoing and truly never met a stranger. To know Robbie was to love him and he will be dearly missed. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Moorefield, Sr. Surviving are his loving wife of 37 years, Shirley Moorefield; mother, Peggy King Moorefield; two sons, Robin Lee Moorefield (wife Jessica) and Randy Kenneth Lawson; one daughter, Shannon Denise Adkins (husband Thomas); one sister, Sandy Welfare (husband John); one brother, Ken Moorefield (wife Martha);one brother-in-law, Tim Peele (wife Melissa); two sisters-in-law, Linda Bateman and Barbara Danley (husband Jimmy); and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2pm on Monday, May 20, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Brother Darrell Price officiating. Interment will follow at Tru-Way Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service. In addition to flowers, memorials may be made to Tru-Way Baptist Church, 1110 Covington Farm Rd, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041.
