Pong "Bj" Anders

Life of Pong Anders (BJ)

Her life began on July 22, 1950 in South Korea.  She grew up with her mother and father, along with two brothers and three sisters.  As as adult, she worked as a newspaper journalist and a banker.    One special night, her friend introduced her to a young military man stationed in South Korea,  Lawrence Dale Anders; which soon became the love of her life.  After dating a year , Dale's tour in South Korea came to an end they married on March 15, 1976 at the South Korean Embassy.  When they both returned to the USA, they lived in Fort Knox, KY.  After Dale was discharged from the military, they returned to Davie County NC, where they have resided for over 40 years.  During this time BJ became a US Citizen and learned the English language and adapted to the English culture.  In 1978, they introduced their first daughter, Marsha Anders-Ramirez to the world.  Shortly after in 1979, their second daughter, Susan Anders Ireland was born.  For over two decades BJ and Dale worked hard and played hard while raising their girls.  In 1998, BJ met her best friend, Hong Joo Lee, and they share a bond stronger than sisters.  In 2000 she was introduced to her first grandson, Landon J. Ireland.  After that she was blessed with granddaughter, Riley Y. Ireland, granddaughter Isabel M. Ramirez, and her youngest grandson Eli J. Ireland.  Over the next 20 years she worked and later retired to help take care of her grandchildren.  BJ loved life and the family her and Dale created.  On September 18, 2018, Jesus called her home.  She leaves behind her loving husband, two daughters and her son-in-laws, John N. Ireland and Enrique Ramirez, four grandchildren, and three fur babies.  BJ will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  The world has lost a wonderful person and heaven has gained an angel.

A Celebration of BJ's life will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel.
