Patricia York

Mrs. Patricia Vaughn York, 78, passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Martinsville, VA on July 28, 1940 to the late Bishop Russell and Mary Wertz Vaughn.  Mrs. York was a member of Shattalon Church of Christ and had retired from Sara Lee with several years of service.  She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  Preceding her in death were a grandson, Josh York; brother, Eddie Vaughn and a sister, Mary “Biz” Cookston.  Surviving is her husband of 55 years, Bill York; daughter, Robin Hancock (Mark) of Mocksville; two sons, Tim York (Anita) of Linden, TN and Tony York (Cara) of Evergreen, CO; five grandchildren, Faith York, Justus York, Leah York, Gareth York, and Charity York; brothers, Harold Vaughn (Nancy) and Jerry Vaughn (Pat); sister, Brenda Stewart; brothers, Ronnie Vaughn (Cheryl), Donnie Vaughn (Jackie), and Mike Vaughn (Kathy); also surviving are several nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel with Minister Gene Woolard officiating.  Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.  The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45 PM prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shattalon Church of Christ, 5490 Shattalon Dr. Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
