Mrs. Mitzie Lowder Reavis, 83, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, July 30, 2020 at Salemtowne Retirement Community. Mitzie was born in Cabarrus County to the late George Dewey Lowder and Betty Bennett Lowder on July 30, 1937. Mitzie was a proud graduate of Salem College. She was a longtime member of Trinity Moravian Church where she served as a choir member, she also was a Sunday School teacher and in the Women’s Circle for 15 years. Mitzie retired from The Department of Social Services with over 38 years of service. She was a tutor at Hall-Woodward School and Tutored through Sunnyside Ministries at Forsyth County Prison. The family would like to send special thanks to the staff of Salemtowne for the excellent care of their mother. Special thanks, also to Reggie and Meg as well as Patty Mead for their many years of loving care, also Larry, Karen, Joe and Cathy for all of their time and attention. Along with her parents, Mitzie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ferrell Reavis; brother, Dewey Ray Lowder and a special nephew, Larry Jay Reavis. She is survived by a son, Steven Ferrell Reavis and granddaughter, Jessica Elizabeth Reavis and several nephews and nieces. A private graveside service will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at God’s Acre Graveyard in Winston-Salem.
