Mary Collins

Ms. Mary Faye McKinney Collins, 88, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born on November 23, 1934, in Stokes Co. the daughter of the late Walter Robert McKinney and Mary Susan “Susie” Nunn McKinney. Ms. Collins was a homemaker and farmer, and retired from A Cleaner World in King. She was a member of Stoney Ridge Baptist Church and will always be remembered as the “Best” mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Bill McKinney. She is survived by her three daughters, Kathy Collins, Cheryl Hill (Reuben) and Vickie Fulk (Roy); her son, Stephan “Steve” Collins (Angela); five grandchildren, Nathan Collins, Ashley Waldrop (John), Cara Gibson (Bryant), Reid Fulk (fiancé Katie Moncus) and Maegan Hill; three great-grandchildren, Eva Waldrop, Abigail Waldrop and Elliott Gibson; two sisters, Earlis Beasley (Buddy, deceased) and Kate Douglas (Ray, deceased); four brothers, Raeford McKinney (Shirley), Ledford McKinney (Betty, deceased), Robert Franklin “R.F.” McKinney (Mary Ruth) and Carlton McKinney (Janet); a sister-in-law, Sylvia McKinney; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Stoney Ridge Baptist Church in Westfield with Pastor Dean White, Elder Rodney Marshall, Bro. Kenny Heath and Mr. James Joyce officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and at other times at her home. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Kate B.
