Mark Kinney

Mr. Mark Jeffrey Kinney passed away unexpectedly on Friday, December 21, 2018. How do you write an obituary for a 41 year old man who loved most everyone he ever met? Mark was the son of the late Wayne and Linda Kinney. He is survived by his sister Ashley Kinney Jane’ (Carlos) and their two children, Piper and Pace Jane’, a Weimaraner named Riley and a host of friends who were like family. Mark was a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, a mentor, a coach and served various other roles throughout his life. Everyone who knew Mark loved him. He would greet you with a smile and a hug any time you saw him. His laugh was contagious and one that will play in our hearts forever. Mark was a graduate of West Forsyth High School and Appalachian State University.  He spent most of his life mentoring the youth as a TASC Care Manager, Juvenile Court Counselor and Drug Court Treatment Supervisor. He was also a baseball coach for the West Forsyth High School team, American Legion Western Post 522 and a travel ball team. Mark was currently employed as a Sales Manager at VVIG in Clemmons. He was a huge Duke basketball and Atlanta Braves baseball fan. Mark enjoyed hanging out with his friends, going to concerts, fishing, golf, athletic events, fantasy football and spending time with his niece and nephew. A special thank you to David O’Brien and all of Mark’s friends for their love and support. You all made his life so special. A casual, kid friendly, celebration of life will take place at Mossy’s Eats Ales Spirits in Clemmons on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at 6:00 pm. Burial will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at New Philadelphia Moravian Church at 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to: the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123; the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O.
