Marie Hopkins

KERNERSVILLE – Marie Ann Martin Hopkins, 81, passed away Friday, August 30, 2019 at Forsyth Medical Center. Marie was born on July 21, 1938 in Surry County to the late Kathleen Lamar Martin and Harvey Martin. Marie’s favorite thing to do was to sew, she was to a sewing machine what IBM is to a computer. She loved her family dearly and everyone that met her loved her! She will be greatly missed by her loving family. She was preceded in death by three grandchildren and one sister.

Marie is survived by her loving husband; Leroy Hopkins, six children; Kathy Cotton and her husband Tom, Marty Cox and his wife Penny, Lisa Novac, Lora McMichael and husband Jerry, Teresa Joyner and her husband Larry and Sheila Gordon, seven grandchildren; Daniel, Todd, Justin, Lauren, Drake, Tyler, Ellie, six great grandchildren, and a special friend to the family Rob Parke and Judy Johnson.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Jeff Barnes officiating.
