Leonardo Costa

It is with great regret that our beloved son, father, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend LEONARDO CAVALCANTE COSTA has passed away peacefully on August 29, 2019 while sleeping after a long battle with depression.

His joining to heaven has left us surprised and saddened, but we are sure that he occupies a better place today. Our Leo was fluent in Japanese and was an artist recognized and honored at the age of 12 at the New York Carnegie Hall as the future artists of America.

Unfortunately his future was short lived, but long enough to leave Sebastian with us, along with many lessons of love, ethic and humanity.

He was preceded I death by his grandfathers, Edgar de Almeida Candeias and Gilberto Jose Ferreira Costa

Survivors include his mother, Anabella Cavalcante Hooper and husband, Steven Lee Hooper; his father, Leonardo Oliveira Costa; his sister, Juliana Cavalcante Costa; his son, Sebastian Cavalcante Bertine Costa; his grandmothers, Anenisia Cavalcante Dawson and Virginia Matos de Oliveira Costa; his aunts and uncles, Fatima Candeias, Luciana Young, Gilberto Jose Ferreira Costa Filho, Antonio Pedro Costa; his cousins, Michael Jolin, Daniel Jolin, Pedro Loureiro, Joao Costa, Gabriela Costa, Gilberto Costa Neto, Filipe Costa, Daniel Costa, Ana Thereza Caffe, Juliana Jolin and Lucas Jolin and his four legged sister, Princesa Melody Cavalcante Candeias Costa

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Dr. Ralph D’Agnostino officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.  To celebrate Leo’s life the family request that you wear light colored clothing to the service.
