*** UPDATE....MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RELOCATED TO THE MAUSOLEUM CHAPEL DUE TO WEATHER*** Larry Simmons of Winston-Salem and Mooresville, NC passed on May 20, 2019. He was born in Lake View, SC to Forrest and Irene Simmons. Larry attended Appalachian State University prior to joining the US Marine Corp. He graduated from Guilford College and began his career at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company, later retiring from Ciba-Geigy (now Syngenta) as a Senior Packaging Engineer. Following his retirement, Larry started his own company, Packaging Advisory Corporation where he traveled as a consultant. Larry was an avid duck hunter, and sportsman enjoying jet ski trips with his closest friends. Larry had traveled the world. However, his favorite place was his home on Lake Norman where he loved gardening, pontoon boating, and hosting Sunday Morning Sunday School. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rochelle Simmons and his sister Earline Moody. Surviving Larry are his wife Sandra, sister Fontella Hayes, sisters-in-law, Susan Hastings (Gary), Donna Chandler (Gary), and Lucy Simmons of Lumberton, NC. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. *** MEMORIAL SERVICE HAS BEEN RELOCATED TO THE MAUSOLEUM CHAPEL DUE TO WEATHER*** at Forsyth Memorial Park on June 5, 2019 at 4:00 PM.
