Larry Canada

Mr. Larry Franklin Canada, 84, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at his home.  He was born in Forsyth County on July 2, 1937 to the late Owen Franklin and Lillie Belle Mayberry Canada.  Mr. Canada retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. with 25 plus years of service and then worked for Aladdin Travel Company.  He was a member of Lewisville Baptist Church but had been attending Calvary Baptist Church.  He loved to travel, flower gardening, and loved his family.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.  Preceding him in death was his parents and a brother, Lenny Canada.  Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Betty McCoy Canada; daughter, Paula McDonald (Benny) of Cartersville, GA; son, Rodney Canada (Edy) of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Emilee Thomas (Todd), Jessica Daniels (Jamison), and Preston Canada and fiancé, Farra; also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Gibbs and Elodie Thomas.  A funeral service will be held at 6:30 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:30 PM prior to the service.  The family will have a private family graveside.  Flowers will be accepted, or donations can be made to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000 Boone, NC 28607.
