Katherine Terrell

Katherine Thomas Terrell, 96, passed away on November 16, 2018, at Forsyth Medical Center.  She was the daughter of Charlie and Mary Adkins.  She worked 40 years at F. W. Woolworth and moved to Burlington and worked several years at Alamance Community Bookstore until she was the age of 85.  Mrs. Terrell was a member of Lighthouse Chapel in Burlington.  She participated in Senior games from the age of 65 until she was 92 and won many gold medals along the way.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Terrell was preceded in death by her first husband, Sam Thomas; her second husband, Marvin Terrell; and her son, Robert Thomas.  Mrs. Terrell is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Lunsford and Bonnie Canipe both of Winston-Salem; four grandchildren: Kathy Coe, Melinda Vestal, Manchell Hamby, and Patrick Stacy; ten great-grandchildren; and twelve great-great-grandchildren.  A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 20, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. D. L. Perry officiating.  Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.  Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to: Lighthouse Chapel, 1821 North Church Street, Suite E, Burlington, NC 27217.
