Junior Richardson

Winston-Salem – Mr. Junior Lee Richardson, 85, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Ashe County on February 18, 1933 to Everett William and Stella Taylor Richardson. Junior was a great Christian man who accepted the Lord as his Savior in May 1956. He was a faithful member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for 28 years. Junior was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by his son, David Curtis Richardson and two brothers, Herman and Paul Richardson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Libby Boles Richardson; four sons, Bruce Richardson (Carol); Keith Richardson (Rebecca), Jeffery Richardson (Kim), and Gregory Richardson (Angie); 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Wayne and Charles Richardson; and three sisters, Jean Pettus, Carolyn Messer, and DeEtta Swaim.

A funeral service for Junior will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow the service at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Home and Hospice Care, 1308 Davie Ave, Statesville NC 28677. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
