John David Robert Ferguson passed away unexpectedly at 28 years of age, on July 20, 2018 in Columbus OH. Born in Charlottesville VA January 13, 1990 John was the wonderful and loving son of Nancy Ferguson (Bob Ciocan) of Winston Salem NC, and of Dr. Robert Ferguson (Jenny) of Cleveland OH, and the brother and best friend for 26 years of Daniel Lloyd Donald Ferguson of Winston Salem NC. Predeceased by devoted grandparents, Robert Lloyd and Francoise (Cousineau) McCaig of Ottawa Ontario, and Dr. Donald and Lucille (Genier) Ferguson of Gatineau Quebec, and late Uncles Robert J. Dolan and David K. McCaig, also by his step-grandparents, John Dale Anderson and Charlotte Rodway. John had lived in Memphis TN, Kingston Ontario Canada, Winston Salem NC, State College PA, Asheville NC and Columbus OH. A graduate of FCDS, he attended Schreyer's Honors College PSU (Engineering) and OSU Columbus (Pharmacology, Business). John was intelligent, articulate and an intense reader. He also loved computers, music, neuropharmacology, and business. He had a passion for fun and adventure including skiing, autocross, rock climbing, exploring caves, hiking, nature, animals, movies, TV series, theme parks, festivals, MTG, gaming, and holidays at the Canada cottage, Pompano Beach and Whistler, BC. John loved life and lived it to its fullest. His insatiable quest for knowledge, search to understand the universe and his relationships were of utmost importance to him. His commitment to family and love for friends worldwide leaves many to mourn his passing. John's beautiful smile, his laughter and wit, his calm, generous and loving nature will be forever achingly missed. His attributes will be tenderly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins from Ontario Canada, (McCaig, Martin, Tetzlaff, Mobbs, Gibson), Alberta Canada, (McCaig, Ballantyne), B.C. Canada (McCaig, McCullough, Baylis), Quebec (Genier), Tennessee (St-Hilaire, Ferguson, Jordan), Massachusetts (Ferguson), as well as Pennsylvania (step-great grandparents, step-grandparents, step-cousins, Anderson, Rodway), by many teachers and friends in Winston Salem NC and so many dear friends in Columbus OH, Asheville NC, Denver CO, NYC, Wilmington SC, Pittsburgh PA.
