Joann Tucker

Mrs. JoAnn Matthews Tucker, 73, passed away at her residence on Friday, July 10, 2020. She was born on July 30, 1946 to Naomi Matthews in Surry County. JoAnn was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed. JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, John David Tucker; son, John E. Tucker; brother, Jackie Matthews; and sister, Leonia Jones. Surviving are her son, Darryl Tucker; daughters, Patricia Bartlett and Anita Weavil; stepson, Jackie Tucker; 8 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Mikel Matthews; sister, Renee Elizabeth Douglas; daughter-in-law, Tracy Respoli; son-in-law, Mark Adkins and his wife, Jennifer; and sister-in-law, Karen Matthews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at Northwoods Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.
