Jeanette Newsome

Mrs. Jeanette Moss Newsome, 85, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018.  She was born January 4, 1933 in Forsyth County to the late Walter Jefferson Moss, Sr. and Sadie Aldridge Moss.  Jeanette graduated from Rural Hall High School.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Employment included Western Electric, Hanes Hosiery, Carolina Star and Old Belt Warehouses, and L’Vira’s clothing store.  She retired from Westinghouse Corporation with 17 years of service.  Mrs. Newsome was a charter member of the Tobaccoville Women’s Organization.  She served as its first president, guiding many fundraising projects to benefit the Village of Tobaccoville.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newsome is preceded in death by three brothers: Walter Moss Jr., Dr. C. Wayne Moss, and Milton Moss and two sisters, Marie Crews and Ruth Sapp.  She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Fred Edward Newsome; daughter, Melanie Newsome; two grandsons, Jason Bianucci of Waynesville and Tony Bianucci of Wilmington; sister, Shelby Webb (Roger); two sisters-in-law, Elsie Moss and Marian Moss; and 35 nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, October 21 at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall, NC.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Saturday, October 20 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bridges Church Building Fund, PO Box 586, Pfafftown, NC 27040 or Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
