Janie Phillips

Mrs. Janie Sue Haynes Phillips, 60, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was born on October 19, 1958 to Reuben Wayne and Mary Swift Haynes.  Janie was a life-long resident of Forsyth County.  She grew up as a member of Woodland Baptist Church, where she gave her life to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  Janie was currently a member of Grace Baptist Church.  Surviving is her husband, Dr. C. John Phillips; three sons, Benjamin John Phillips of Baltimore, MD, Andrew James Phillips (Hannah) of Bermuda Run, NC, and Reuben Luke Phillips (Samantha) of Fullerton, CA; two grandsons, Major David Phillips and Owen Maxwell Phillips; also surviving are her parents and two brothers, Frank Haynes (Carolyn) and Tim Haynes (Hope).  A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Grace Baptist Church with Dr. Billy Seats, Dr. Jeremy Wallace, and Mrs. Audrey Phillips-Jose officiating.  Friends and family are invited to attend a brief graveside service at 3:30 PM following the service at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery near Mt. Airy.  The family will receive friends from 11:00-12:45 prior to the service.  Janie was an angel on earth, always selfless and willing to help others, and her smile and laugh could light up the entire room. She passed her love for God to all her children, always reminding them to “Put God first and everything else will work out.” Janie was immensely proud of her family, including her two grandsons, and leaves behind nothing but a lifetime of beautiful memories. As her health declined she said, “I have great joy in knowing Jesus Christ as my friend and Savior, when life comes to an end knowing Christ is the most important thing!” She’s with Him right now in glory, and her spirit will continue living forever through her family and friends.
