Mr. Jack Eugene Land, 85, of Winston-Salem passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at The Ivy at Clemmons. Jack “Pa” has been reunited with the love of his life in the presence of their Lord. He was born on October 31, 1933 in Guilford County to William and Hannah Smitherman Land. Mr. Land was a member of First Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and retired from Pilot Freight Carriers. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Mr. Land was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley Burberry Land; one brother, Woodrow Land; two sisters, Mary Baity and Winfred Wrenn. He is survived by his son, David Eugene Land and wife Debbie of Arcadia; two grandchildren, Kevan Land, Scott James and wife Summer; two great grandchildren, Taylor James and Hunter James. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Frist Baptist Church on Fifth St. in Winston-Salem with Pastor Emily Hull McGee officiating. The family would like to express a special thanks to the angels at The Ivy of Clemmons who not only took wonderful care of Jack but loved him. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Forsyth Humane Society, 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
