Mrs. Helen Stitt, of Clemmons, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.  She was one month away from her 101st birthday.

Helen was born March 9, 1918 in Pennsylvania to Violet and Ward Stitt.  She retired from the Bureau of Customs in Washington, D.C. after 30 years of service and was a member of Central Terrace United Methodist Church.  In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Phillips Samuel Stitt, two sisters, and one brother.

Helen is survived by her daughters, Lois Kincer and Gail Chavrid (Alexander); 7 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and sister, Aleen Pearson.

A celebration of Helen’s life will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 2 PM at Central Terrace United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Summers and Rev. Ernie Plemmons officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.  Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park.
