Mrs. Elizabeth “Chris” Ann Swaim Watts, 87, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2019. She was born in Forsyth County on May 13, 1932, to the late Olin Franklin Swaim, Sr. and Martha Raper Swaim. Mrs. Watts was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church until her health prevented her from being able to regularly attend. She retired from Lewis and Daggett Attorneys with sixteen years of dedicated service. Mrs. Watts enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends and spending time with her family.
Preceding her in death are her parents and a step-daughter, Patricia “Tricia” Watts. Surviving are her husband of fourteen years, Russell Watts; three children: Fredrick Payne Stovall and wife Anna of Charlotte; Pamela Stovall Thomas and husband Anthony of High Point, and Brian Franklin Stovall of Roanoke, VA; a step-son, Timothy R. Watts and wife Rosemary of Clemmons; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four siblings: Rebecca Swaim Sidden, Olene Swaim Tilton and husband Dan of San Francisco, CA, Olin “Bud” Franklin Swaim, Jr., and Patricia Swaim Daniel and husband Shawn of Clemmons; and many loving nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted in her honor 2:00 PM Monday, June 10, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, officiated by Pastor Gary Byrum. Interment will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM Sunday, June 9, 2019, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
