Elaine Messick Myers

Elaine Messick Myers passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Abernethy Laurels, Newton, NC.  Elaine was born August 15, 1933 to the late Margaret Harbin Messick and William M. Messick.  She was married to the late Robert S. (Bobby) Myers, Sr.  In addition to her parents and husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her son, Robert S. (Bobby) Myers, Jr., brothers Bill Messick, Ronnie Messick, sisters, Helen Jones, and Alice Shuman. She is survived by a daughter, Karen M. Boone and husband David of Conover, NC, daughter-in-law, Ellen V. Myers of Clemmons, NC, four grandchildren, Jennifer Puff (Travis) of Cary, NC, Lindsay Agran (Greg) of New York, NY, Matthew Myers (Ashley) of Clemmons, NC, Jonathan Boone of Charlotte, NC, 6 great grandchildren, Katie Hawkins (Josh), Irelynn Puff, Livie Puff, Tessa Puff, Ford Myers and Maeve Agran.

Family and friends were drawn to Elaine’s fun-loving, magnetic personality.  She was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, especially over the holidays.  Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Elaine will surely be missed, but treasured memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

A visitation for friends and family will be held from 2:00pm – 4:00pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, 3315 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be given to UCHS Foundation (Abernethy Laurels), 102 Leonard Avenue, Newton, NC  28658.
