David Jackson

Kernersville – David Michael Jackson, 60, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home, after a short battle with cancer.

David was born on June 10, 1958 in Mercer County, Bluefield, WV to the late George Franklin and Stella Smothers Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; Joseph Samuels Jackson, Daisy Anne Jackson, Kathleen Stowers, “Nanny” Smothers and Albert “Slim” Smothers. He was a veteran of the US Army, a huge sports fanatic, he enjoyed Sunday Football, Carolina Tarheels, Nascar, and especially Kyle Bush!

Surviving are his wife, Jo Etta “Jo” Dye Jackson, of the home, a shihtzu named Jingy, that he adored; an aunt, Gay Eades of Roanoke, VA; special cousins, Kimberly Smothers Mohr of Statesville NC and Kevin Weeks of Roanoke Va, along with numerous other Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. along with many other loving cousins, and his wonderful friends who rallied around us with a beautiful circle of loving people who will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, January 19, 2019 at Christ Wesleyan Church, 2390 Union Cross Rd. Winston Salem, NC 27107, with Pastor Mark Norris officiating. A family visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
