Cinda Smith

The evening of August 16 at 7:00 p.m. Cinda took flight to her heavenly abode to join family and friends.  Parkinson’s disease made living a fruitful life very difficult in the last few years of her life.  She had to live in a nursing care facility with various age-related problems for 8-10 years.  Her wonderful husband Billy G. Smith watched over her as long as he was able.  She took him as a husband in 2012 when she was 81 years old.  They lived happily for over two years and then he passed in 2015

Cinda was a Seventh-Day Adventist for many years.  She loved her Saviour, her family, and her many friends.  She was always making people feel that they were important and lots of times made them laugh.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

Cinda attended Hanes High School and was graduated from Mineral Springs High School in 1950.  She attended college for a short time; but came home and sought employment at AT&T.  She continued to work at AT&T when it was renamed Western Electric.  She worked in the Engineering Dept. as an Administrative Assistant until her retirement, receiving a number of awards for length of service.  She retired in the Walkertown area.  She was skilled in crafts like macramé and knitting.  She learned to play the piano and loved to sing and play hymns.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Billy G. Smith, her parents John David Evans, Sr. and wife Dorothy N. Evans, a sister Una Evans Perrell, aunts, uncles, cousins, and others from a very large family.  She is survived by:  2 sisters-- Rachel E. Hauser (Roland) and Shirley E. Mitchell; 4 brothers—J. D. Evans, Jr.; Frederick Evans (Brenda); Richard N. Evans (Priscilla); and A. Keith Evans (Janice);cousin Martha Swing and cousin Loretta Young; lots of nieces and nephews, and  a number of grandnieces and grandnephews

Rest in Peace, Dear Sister.
