Carrie Corbin

KERNERSVILLE – Carrie Short Corbin, 72, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2020 at Forsyth Medical Center. Carrie was born on September 25, 1947 in Wise County, VA to Zemory and Josephine Maggard Short. Carrie was a devout Christian and loved her family. She enjoyed gardening, cooking and crafting. Carrie loved children, sharing that love with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many children that she raised as her own.

Carrie had a kindred spirit with a genuine concern and care for others. She will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Carrie was preceded in death by one brother, Bill Short.

Surviving are her husband, Chuck Corbin; two daughters, Melissa Maldonado (Edwin), and Wendy Hanlin (Bo); one son, Gregory Friga; four grandchildren, Tiffany, Jacob, Tanner, and Emily; two great grandchildren, Brayden and Jackson; one sister, Brenda Robinson; and one brother, Doug Short.

A graveside service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the gazebo at Mt. Gur Cemetery. Inurnment will follow at the columbarium.
