Brenda Waller

Mrs. Brenda Gail Butner Waller, 77, passed away October 27, 2018.  She was born April 15, 1941 in Forsyth County to the late William Oscar Butner and Sadie Kirby Butner.  Mrs. Waller was a long-time member of Friends Union Church.  She was employed by the Law Firm Petree, Stockton and Robinson, in Winston-Salem, NC for 21 years.  The last four years of her tenure she worked in a paralegal position, drafting and producing the final product of wills, codicils, power of attorney and trust agreements independently for the entire firm.  Brenda later became the sole proprietor of “Words of Distinction”, a word processing and laser printing business which culminated into employment working directly for the president of Old North State Bank as Assistant Corporate Secretary for nine years prior to the sale of the bank.  She was also employed by Martin’s Gift Shop from 1981 to 1985, which she enjoyed more than any other job.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waller is preceded in death by five sisters: Ruth Lawson (Gray), Ruby Tuttle (James), Leah Alderman (Hoover), Margie Hooker (Jack), and Iris Willard (Fred); and two brothers, Johnie Butner and Bill Butner.  She is survived by her loving husband, John M. Waller; brother, Everette “Bud” Butner (Ann); her feline companion, Boots; and several nieces and nephews.  A graveside service will be conducted 1:00 PM Wednesday, October 31 at Friends Union Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall of the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends Union Church, 1087 Spainhour Mill Road, Pinnacle, NC 27043.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
