Brenda Thompson

Brenda Gail Young Thompson, 72, of Winston-Salem passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 11, 2019 at her residence. Brenda was born to the late Rev. Avery M. Young and Margaret Broadstreet Young on January 23, 1946. Brenda loved her family and her work family at Salem Towne. She was scheduled to retire from a company that she loved and whom equally loved her back for over 28 years. She enjoyed taking care of her cats and watching NASCAR racing. Brenda loved gardening, and her favorite flower was petunias. Along with her parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa Pegram. She is survived by a son, Marty Pegram; grandchild, Caroline Pegram; brother, Danny Young (Carol); sisters, Ava Lee Lawson and Mary Beth Holyfield; nieces and nephews, especially Brent Holyfield; and a host of friends. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA, 4881 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem NC 27104.
