Mr. Bobby E. Cox, 85, of Winston-Salem, passed away at his home on June 7, 2019. He was born in Forsyth County to Ralph Leroy Cox and Anna Lee Harah. He served four years in the U.S. Navy on the USS-LAFFEY DD-724. He retired after 40 years from Wilson Pest Control. Bob was an active member of Fairview Moravian Church, where he loved making chicken pies and frying country ham. He will be most remembered for his joy in helping others. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Bryan Cox and his son, Micheal Young. He is survived by his children, Terry Young (Evonne), Robin Young Rose (Ronnie), and his sweet sister, Juanita "Cotton" Cox Newbury. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Christian Young, Britten Peele (John), Chad Rose (Emily), Bryan Rose (Meredith), and Ashley Dillon (Steven); and eight great-grandchildren, Atli, Katherin, Brisyn, Saylor Grace, Tucker, Anderson, Mason, and Gage. A celebration of life will be held at the home of Mr. Cox on Saturday, June 22, 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will be held at Fairview Moravian Church on Friday, July 19, 2019. The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM prior to the 11:00 AM service with Rev. Don Griffin officiating the service and graveside military service following in Old Salem. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fairview Moravian Church, in memory of Bob and Judy Cox, 6550 Silas Creek Pkwy, Winston-Salem, NC 27106 or Trellis Hospice Center, 101 Hospice Ln, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
