With his family at his side, Mr. Billy Ray Keiger, Jr. passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the age of 64. He was born to the late Inez Armstrong on May 27, 1957 in Winston Salem. After graduating from Parkland High School in 1976, Billy entered the military where he proudly served in the United States Army for eight years. He then spent the next 8 years working at Flava-O-Rich Dairy before becoming employed at Lowder, Inc. where he continued to work for his remaining 27 years.
As an avid bowler, Billy bowled multiple perfect games and had numerous honor scores. He was a special part of the bowling community. As a devoted UNC Tarheel fan, he made sure that he never missed a basketball game no matter what. He always looked forward to getting away with his family and friends at Topsail Island, his favorite place to visit. He enjoyed fishing on his boat and off the pier, but he still never managed to catch the biggest fish.
Billy is preceded in death by his mother, Inez, and his grandmothers, Beulah Shouse and Emma Kiger. He will be missed by many, especially his loving wife of 42 years, Susan; his daughter, Tosha Royal, and her husband, Ransom; his granddaughters, Sabrina and Tabitha Royal; his sister, Teresa Krizmanich, and her husband, Dennis; his brother, David and his wife, Angela; his brother John Beck, and his wife, Lisa; his special fur babies, Garfield, Riley, and Sophie; as well as his aunts, uncle and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel on Sunday, October 17th from 2:00pm to 4:00 with funeral services to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-susan-and-billy-with-expenses-along-the-way.
