Betty Jean Hoover

Ms. Betty Jean Mize Hoover, 89 of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022. She was born April 5, 1933 in Davidson County to Joe and Betty Mize. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church for many years. Betty was a stay at home mom for many years when her children were young. She later went to work for the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools where she retired. She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Joe and Malcolm Mize. Surviving are her three children, Dianne Bechtler (Michael), Darlene Turner and Keith Hoover (Brenda) five grandchildren, Jason Knight, Brandon Rich (Ashley), Cameron Hoover (Bethany), Aaron Turner (Amanda) and Rebekah Turner; two great grandchildren, Bentley Hoover and Samuel Turner and one great grandchild on the way, Maverick Hoover. The family would like to mention a special thanks to Davie Nursing & Rehab as well as her roommate, Christine and her CNA, April. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Will Toburen officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
