Betty Lawson Lynch, 96, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. She was born to Samuel and Mentoria Lawson on December 15, 1926, the baby of thirteen children. She grew up on the family farm in Stokes County where she enjoyed her childhood with her big, loving family. In 1947, she married the love of her life, Warren G. Lynch and they eventually settled in Winston-Salem to start a family of their own.
Betty was predeceased by her parents, all of her siblings, and her beloved husband of sixty years. She is survived by her son Kevin Lynch of King and her daughter Cynthia Martin (Ron) of Clemmons, her grandchildren, Erica Torres, Matt Lynch (Katie), Amanda Bentley (Matthew), Josh Martin (Angie), Brad Martin (Amanda), and six great-grandchildren.
Betty will be remembered for her strength and determination in selflessly caring for her husband for twenty years after he suffered a debilitating heart attack, but also for her wit, humor, and sense of decorum which she never lost. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Davidson County (hospiceofdavidsoncounty.org) in appreciation for their compassionate care for Betty in her last days.
